Where to Learn

Study full time at one of our seven global campuses or at your own pace through GIA Distance Education.

On-Campus Education

Study full time and earn your professional credential in six months or less. All GIA campuses and locations feature classrooms equipped with the latest tools and equipment, small classes conducive to personalized instruction, and attentive staff dedicated to your success. You’ll learn by doing, working with expert instructors ready to provide guidance and answer questions, and you’ll collaborate with fellow students who share your passion for gems and jewelry.

Online Education

Study the same curriculum as on-campus students but with more flexibility to meet your family and job commitments. GIA's Online Division programs are a combination of online courses and hands-on lab classes at a GIA campus location. The method may differ from on-campus study, but the result is the same--a professional credential valued and recognized throughout the industry.

Global Campus Locations

Located in many of the world’s top gem trading and jewelry-making centers, each of GIA’s seven global campuses offers students a respected education with a unique perspective on the industry.

Online Division

Need more flexibility for your busy schedule? Earn a GIA gemology diploma via our Online Division by completing media-rich online courses and short lab classes. Online courses begin as often as every week and offer generous completion times. Lab classes provide important hands-on experience with actual gems and professional gemological equipment.
