Washington D.C. Chapter: What is New at GIA?
Tuesday, September 19, 2017
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Arlington, VA
Join us as we welcome Kate Donovan, GIA global alumni relations manager, who will present an update on GIA’s global initiatives, education, laboratory offerings and retailer support. Donovan will also review alumni benefits and programs available to support your business efforts and provide an overview of GIA’s broad spectrum of education and support that is available to students, graduates and the industry.
Knowledge and access to these benefits and programs makes it possible for you to help GIA uphold the highest gemological standards, as well as protect and educate the public about their gems and jewelry purchases.
Donovan, who earned her GIA GG from the Santa Monica campus in 1989, oversees worldwide alumni growth, chapters, activities and continuing education efforts. Before joining the GIA team in 2009, she held positions as a couture retailer, jewelry buyer and wholesaler of colored gemstones and minerals for more than 20 years. She also served in volunteer leadership roles in the New England and San Diego GIA alumni chapters for two decades and is a past-president of the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) San Diego chapter.
All are welcome to attend; whether you're a GIA graduate, student, industry associate, hobbyist or guest. Please share this invitation with any others you feel would be interested.
