Born in Sardinia, Italy, and known worldwide as a Bond Girl playing opposite Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, Caterina Murino is also an accomplished and conscientious jewelry designer who has long been passionate about jewelry and gemstones.
Profoundly attached to her Island and her roots, Caterina was shocked to discover that 20 years ago, there were 400 filigree artisans in Sardinia. Now, there are less than a dozen manufacturing these traditional jewels, deemed to be one of the best in the world. Their most emblematic piece remains the Fede Sarda, the traditional Sardinian ring passed from mother to daughter in families during significant events such as weddings or births.
Caterina recently launched her eponymous brand, Caterina Murino Jewellery, to share her homeland's cultural heritage and support its dwindling artisanal skills of filigree making.
