Does GIA teach appraisal courses?
GIA does not offer appraisal courses. However, GIA programmes provide the skills needed to identify and grade gems, understand jewellery manufacturing techniques and recognise quality in jewellery pieces. Once you have these skills, you will need additional training from another organisation or educational institute to become a qualified appraiser.
