Does GIA teach appraisal courses?
GIA does not offer appraisal courses. However, GIA programs provide the skills needed to identify and grade gems, understand jewelry manufacturing techniques and recognize quality in jewelry pieces. Once you have these skills, you will need additional training from another organization or school to become a qualified appraiser.
