Update for eLearning Students

While GIA’s Carlsbad facility and campus remain closed, staff is working remotely to continue to serve students and assist them in achieving their educational goals. As many of our students are now at home with more time to focus on their studies, we are eager to provide the assistance, instruction and guidance needed for each of you to progress toward the successful completion of your courses.

Students may experience delays in receiving their diplomas and certificates due to the suspension of postal services to certain countries.

Below is information regarding GIA’s support and services for eLearning students:

Online Courses and Instructional Support

All eLearning courses are available for you to continue to do your online coursework and assignments. Faculty are available by email and phone to answer questions and provide instruction and support. All students enrolled prior to March 16, 2020 have been given a 6-week extension of the course end date.

Online Support

Our online support team is available to assist you with any login or technical issues.

Gem Identification (GID240) Course

  • We are accepting new enrollments into the Gem Identification eLearning course.

  • For currently enrolled students, all stone shipments have resumed service, including international. Automatic shipment schedules for stones may now be requested with all regular loan periods and policies in effect.

 You may contact your assigned primary instructor with questions or for guidance.

Proctored Exams

Our Student Records team is available to assist you with scheduling your proctored exam.
