Metro Phoenix Chapter: Hexagons: From Passion to Obsession

Join the Metro Phoenix alumni chapter for a fascinating exploration of hexagons, which are ever-present in chemistry, biology, mineralogy and gemology. Humans, influenced by nature, have used hexagons in art, architecture, mysticism and religion. The mineral expression of hexagonal crystals has created one of the most coveted and interesting gemstones: the trapiche. Award-winning fine jewelry from names such as Bergdorf & Goodman, Yael, Omi Gems, Judith Kaufman, Selim Mouzanner Amal and others have incorporated trapiche gemstones into their jewelry designs with unique and stunning results. This presentation will stretch our awareness and appreciation of the world around us as well as treasured gemological wonders.

Bergman, American-born and currently Bangkok-based, has been involved in all aspects of gemology, from cutting to being a globally recognized colored gemstones supplier and consultant. His expertise lead to him being featured in many gem and jewelry publications and interviewed on ABC, BBC, CCTB, CNN, NBC and GEO.
