GIA Hosts 100th Gemstone Gathering in Bangkok, Jan. 27

Fred Mouawad shares insights on multi-generational family jewelry business

BANGKOK – Jan. 19, 2016 – GIA will celebrate its 100th Gemstone Gathering on Jan. 27 with a special presentation by Fred Mouawad, co-guardian of Mouawad Jewelry & Watches, and founder of Synergia One Group of Companies. He will discuss how to assure continuity in a multi-generational family jewelry business during the free event in Bangkok.
 
Mouawad will share his family history and advice on how to plan for continuity by grooming the next generation. As a fourth generation co-guardian of Mouawad, he will discuss the development of comprehensive management systems that seek synergies across his portfolio to maximize value creation. 
 
Mouawad has extensive experience in private equity, in incubating and growing several ventures internationally, and co-managing a century-old family business alongside his brothers. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School, his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, is a GIA Graduate Gemologist, and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
 
GIA’s Gemstone Gathering, a free event, begins at 6 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the “Crowne Room 1-3” on the 21st floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Lumpini Park in Bangkok.
