GIA to Host Diamond Grading Lab Class in Israel

Evergreen diamond grading

Taught in association with the IDMA from Nov. 13-17

RAMAT GAN – Oct. 17, 2016 – From Sunday, Nov. 13 through Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, GIA will conduct a Diamond Grading Lab Class at the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) offices in Ramat Gan.

Taught by experienced and qualified GIA instructors, the Diamond Grading Lab class combines technical and practical education in the observation and evaluation of these gems. Participants work with actual gemstones, a modern gem microscope and a jeweler’s loupe to learn how to grade diamonds consistently and accurately. The class studies GIA’s Diamond Grading System; explores time-saving shortcuts to determine a variety of grading factors; and introduces methods for reading a GIA Diamond Grading Report.

Participants must pass a two-stone practical test to complete the class successfully. For more details and to sign up for the lab class, email admissions@gia.edu or call +1 760-603-4001.
