St. Louis Chapter: Lab-Grown and Treated Diamonds by Richard Drucker
Thursday, August 4, 2016
St. Louis, MO
Lab-grown and treated diamonds are becoming much more prevalent in our industry. Richard Drucker, president of Gemworld International, will discuss the challenges of identifying and pricing these diamonds.
A third generation jeweler, Drucker began a pricing publication, now known as the GemGuide, in 1982, which is used in more than 40 countries. He became the owner of GemGuide Appraisal Software in 2002 and in 2014, co-developed the World of Color nomenclature and grading system for colored gemstones.
Drucker received the Antonio C. Bonanno Excellence in Gemology industry award in 2006 and was awarded honorary fellowship by the Gemmological Association of Great Britian (FGA) in 2012. Drucker is a publisher, appraiser, consultant, lecturer and author. He has published six industry books on various gemological and appraisal topics and hosted four international gemological conferences, bringing gemologists, jewelers and appraisers together from around the world; a fifth is planned in 2017.
All are welcome to attend this event, whether you're a GIA Alumni, student, industry associate, hobbyist or guest.
