What if my diamond is already inscribed? Will GIA re-inscribe the phrase LABORATORY-GROWN?
GIA will not inscribe LABORATORY-GROWN on a diamond that already has an inscription stating that the stone is laboratory-grown. Acceptable inscriptions, which are laboratory-grown, laboratory-created, man-made, synthetic or [manufacturer name]-created, will only receive the report number inscription. The new report number will be inscribed.
