Notice on transferability of credits and credentials earned
The transferability of credits you earn at the Gemological Institute of America is at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. Acceptance of the (diploma or certificate) you earn in the educational programme is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. If the (diploma or certificate) that you earn at this institution is not accepted at the institution to which you seek to transfer, you may be required to repeat some or all of your coursework at that institution. For this reason you should be certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals. This may include contacting the institution to which you may seek to transfer after attending the Gemological Institute of America to determine if your diploma or certificate will transfer.
Licensed private career schools offer curricula measured in clock hours, not credit hours. Certificates of completion, i.e., school diplomas, are issued to students who meet clock hour requirements. The granting of any college credit to students who participated in and/or completed a programme at a licensed private career school is solely at the discretion of the institution of higher education that the student may opt to subsequently attend.
