Financial Aid Academic Requirements

Federal regulations require all institutions participating in Title IV federal student aid programs establish academic standards to ensure students make satisfactory progress. GIA monitors students’ academic progress to ensure students are moving toward successful completion of their program. Students receive academic progress reports at scheduled benchmarks during the program.

Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to receive student financial aid. All students who fail to meet SAP requirements at the midpoint of the program are placed on Academic Probation, notified in writing and issued an Academic Improvement Plan. Students who do not meet the terms of their Academic Improvement Plan are dismissed. Federal financial aid students who fail to meet SAP are no longer eligible for federal funding.
