Art Sexauer, GIA museum benefactor, commissioned master gem carver Lothar Hermann of Idar-Oberstein to create this 21 piece exquisite collection of musical instruments in various gem materials and 14K yellow gold. The symphony includes a tiger's eye harp, rose quartz tuba, three obsidian and quartz kettle drums, a rutilated quartz cello, a lapis lazuli cello, a rose quartz double bass, lapis lazuli saxophone, a tiger's eye French horn, a turquoise trumpet, an amethyst trombone, a lapis lazuli trombone, a quartz trombone, a citrine trombone, an onyx and quartz piano, a rose quartz viola, a tourmaline violin, a lapis lazuli violin, a tourmaline violin, and a malachite violin.” A master piece for the eyes.
