What’s New at G&G
Take the Gems & Gemology Challenge Online!
This year, we have made it possible to complete the Gems & Gemology Challenge online. If you have a print subscription, you can take the online version or complete the traditional mail-in card (but not both—only the first entry we receive will be counted). If you have a PDF-only subscription, you must complete the Challenge using the online method. (And if you don’t have a subscription, you need to subscribe for your entry to be counted.) When you’re ready to submit your answers, take the G&G Challenge online. Entries must be received by Monday, August 3.
Online Subscriptions to Gems & Gemology Are Now Available!
We are pleased to announce that, beginning immediately, online (PDF) subscriptions to Gems & Gemology are now ready for ordering. Both print + online combination and online-only subscriptions are available (print-only subscriptions are still available and are not affected by this new initiative). Important: If you are a current subscriber and wish to convert your existing print subscription to a combination package or to online-only, you need to contact our Circulation Coordinator rather than placing an order through our web site. New subscribers and those renewing an expired subscription (i.e., you have received your last issue) can proceed directly to the Ordering and Renewals page.
The online version of Gems & Gemology is hosted by MetaPress at gia.metapress.com. After you have purchased an online subscription, we will provide you with a code that you can use to activate your access to MetaPress. PDF versions of both full issues and individual articles and Lab Notes/GNI sections can also be purchased directly from MetaPress, which hosts PDF versions of all issues going back to Spring 1981. Note that Editorials, Letters, Book Reviews, and Gemological Abstracts (and all items marked with a solid green box on the MetaPress tables of contents) are available free of charge.
