Apatite: The Great Pretender

As with other titles in this series, this work is a collection of articles by several contributors. The most common phosphate mineral on earth, apatite is often confused with other minerals. Its name comes from the Greek apate, which means “to deceive,” hence the title of this volume. Chapters cover the science, identifying characteristics, history, and localities of the mineral. The book is lavishly illustrated with color images throughout.
