There are no application deadlines, however, on-campus classes typically reach capacity two to three months in advance, so apply three to four months before to secure your preferred start date.

On Campus
Immerse yourself in the world of gems and jewelry by studying full-time on a GIA campus. Learning in fully-equipped classrooms, you’ll practice your skills under the watchful eyes of trained professionals.
Lab classes
GIA lab classes provide you with hands-on training using the latest gemological equipment. Lab classes are required for most Distance Education diploma programs but may be taken on their own.
Distance Education
Acquire the skills you need to advance your career at a pace that suits your life with eLearning courses. Study the same curriculum as on-campus students with support from GIA’s expert instructors.
What you'll need to study on campus in the U.S. To apply for a certificate or diploma program at our California or New York campuses, you will need the following:
diploma or transcript
A copy of your diploma or transcript from high school/compulsory education, GED, or college.
Identification
A copy of your passport or birth certificate with your full name, birth date, citizenship, and country of birth.
Proof of financing
Proof of financial support to cover all tuition and living expenses, following GIA admissions requirements.
english proficiency
Classes are taught in English, so you must demonstrate proficiency in the spoken and written language, following GIA admissions requirements.
