Houston Chapter: Colorado Mines with Krystle Dorris

Please join us for a fun presentation on Colorado mining by Krystle Dorris, featured on the television series “Prospectors.” Prepare to hear some great stories. 

 

Dorris, whose father introduced her to minerals and gemstones at an early age, is a graduate of the University of Wyoming and part owner of Pinnacle 5 Minerals LLC in Manitou Springs, CO. She has enjoyed digging in the Colorado mountains with her family for more than 25 years and has developed extensive knowledge in mineral extraction. She became a cast member on the television series “Prospectors” in 2012. The show follows members of the Colorado collecting community as they document their process of digging for minerals and gemstones. 

 

Dorris is active at various mineral shows across the country and runs operations and club/public visits for the Topaz Mountain Gem Claim in Park County, CO in the summer. She has also pursued a passion for jewelry and metalsmithing for the past five years.
