Social hour will be from 2 – 3 p.m. and then a tour and dinner will follow. Attendees will alternate as groups between enjoying their dinner and experiencing a personal tour led by Denton Anderson through his shop, as he provides a gemstone cutting demonstration and show-and-tell along with sharing fun stories of the trade. Groups will switch to enjoy their tour or dinner and following, will then have more time to learn and socialize with Denton after the presentations.
Anderson graduated from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 1976 as a Graduate Gemologist in residence and has served as a board member of the GIA Alumni Mile High Chapter for many years. Possessing over 30 years of cutting experience, he has learned to cut from James Stradley of Stradley Lapidary and also worked for Ron DuFault Lapidary before starting Denver Gem Cutting Co. in 1985. Anderson is well respected in our trade and you can see his work at www.gemcutting.com
All are welcome to attend this event, whether you're a GIA alumni, student, industry associate, hobbyist or guest. Please feel free to share this invitation.
