Michigan Chapter: Estate Jewelry Market Trends
Wednesday, August 16, 2017
Joseph DuMouchelle often refers to an auction as “the pulse of the secondary gems and jewelry market.” The world has many fast moving parts these days and the jewelry industry is included. Trends are felt before, during and after each auction. Bidders and buyers are online and participate from over 52 countries worldwide with over 30 Million bidders participating. Markets are able to be tracked and records are often broken.
Learn what market trends are currently happening and how this may affect your aspect of the jewelry industry. Joseph DuMouchelle, GIA GG will discuss prices they are seeing on estate jewelry, diamonds and other gemstone trends. His partner and wife, Melinda (Lindy) Adducci, GIA GG will discuss how jewelers, gemologists and appraisers can best work with their clients so everyone can benefit from the process.
After the presentation join us for a hands-on session with pieces from one of the upcoming auctions.
DuMouchelle is proud to carry on the family legacy. After working with his family for 10 years, he set out to launch his own estate practice, with his partner and wife Melinda Adducci, focusing on the buying, selling and appraising of fine jewelry, objects and art through private sale, private brokerage and auction. After opening their flagship salon in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, the DuMouchelle's opened a second location in Palm Beach, Florida in 2008 and another location on Fifth Avenue in New York in 2009.
