Take a Class

Taught at GIA’s Carlsbad campus, the GemKids Program introduces students to gems and minerals through hands-on classroom activities.

This program complements existing school district science programs with experiments involving natural gems and minerals. Grades 4 through 12 are eligible. Minimum required class size is 15 and maximum class size is 40. Program is free of charge.

As part of our responsibility to protect the health and safety of visitors, students and staff, GIA in Carlsbad has suspended our GemKids program until further notice. We regret any inconvenience. We hope that teachers and their students will come visit us at another time. Please check back in the future for re-opening information, or email for more information.
