Overview

Gaborone is the fast-growing capital of Botswana, one of the world’s largest producers of diamonds, including the valuable Orapa mine. The city is the financial and political center of the country, home to the Diamond Technology Park and many other businesses that support the diamond trade.

Financial Assistance & Scholarships

GIA now offers scholarships during two application periods each year for gemology programs and courses. There are two applicaiton periods: February 1 – March 31 and August 1 – September 30.
