Expand your skills so that you can deliver a broad range of fine jewelry repair services to your customers.

In this 5-day class, you work with an experienced bench jeweler, as you practice a series of progressively challenging repair and setting exercises. Working in white and yellow karat gold and sterling silver at your own fully-equipped workbench, you’ll learn how to:

  • Set faceted stones in a variety of settings, such as bezels, multiple-prong styles and channels
  • Tackle the challenges of setting graduated round stones
  • Assemble, solder and properly finish mountings
  • Remount gemstones
  • Fix and replace prongs
  • Repair broken chains
  • Apply rhodium plating

You’ll also learn laser welding techniques. Get tips and tricks for efficiently finishing precious metals. And gain additional insights on ring sizing. All the while, you’ll improve your ability to diagnose repair issues and assess workmanship quality. GIA provides all the tools and materials.
