Presenter: Stuart Pool

The Moyo Gemstones Project is an ethical gemstone collaboration in Tanzania. The partners are developing relationships and processes with the female artisanal gem miners of the Umba Valley to deliver their gemstones from mine to market. They work to empower women miners to work safely, mine better, improve financial security and create stable, equitable markets for fair trade.

Discover how Nineteen48 is working in partnership with Pact and Anza Gems to bring traceable and responsibly mined gemstones to the international jewelry market and the benefits that brings to the artisanal mining communities.

Stuart Pool is a specialist in responsibly mined and fully traceable colored gemstones, mainly sourced directly from mines in Sri Lanka and Tanzania. He runs gem trading companies, Nineteen48 and Crown Gems, as well as being one of the co-founders of Fair Luxury, a group focused on positive change in the jewelry industry and a key member of the Moyo Gemstones project.
