Does GIA unmount and remount stones?
GIA does not unmount and remount stones. However, Coloured Diamond Identification and Origin Report services and most identification services for coloured stones and pearls can be performed on mounted items.
If the stone you would like to submit is mounted and the service requires a loose stone, you’ll need to take the item to a local jeweller.
