GIA's Volunteer Program

If you love gems and jewlery, enjoy learning and sharing information, and want to work in a beautiful environment, please consider becoming a volunteer at the Gemological Instiute of America in Carlsbad, CA. To become a volunteer, please call 800-421-7250, ext. 4116, or e-mail guestservicesmailbox@gia.edu.

Every year, thousands of people visit GIA's World Headquarters and Robert Mouawad campus. Constructed as a "living museum," our campus is rich with breathtaking photography, exquisite exhibits, and one-of-a-kind displays that are constantly changing. As a Docent or Museum Concierge, you have the opportunity to see it from a unique perspective -- the inside.

When you join the GIA Volunteer Program and donate your time, you serve as an ambassador of the Institute. This is where you have the chance to quench a curiosity, translate your knowledge and enthusiasm to visitors, and enrich lives.

This is where you can make a difference.

Volunteer benefits:

  • Premier access to GIA's unique gem and jewelry exhibits
  • Discounted subscription to GIA's award-winning quarterly journal, Gems & Gemology
  • Free attendance to GIA lectures
  • Annual recognition
  • On-going training

Positions Available
