Terri Ottaway
Curator

Terri Ottaway is the Curator of Collections of the GIA Museum in Carlsbad. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geology from the University of Toronto and is a fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain and the Canadian Gemmological Association. For over 20 years she was an assistant curator in the Earth Sciences department of the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Canada. Her area of interest is the formation of gem deposits with an emphasis on Colombian emeralds.


McKenzie L. Santimer, G.J.G
Project Manager, Exhibit Development

McKenzie Santimer is the Project Manager of Exhibit Development at the GIA Museum in Carlsbad. She has a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurial Business studies from Hawaii Pacific University and holds her Graduate Gemologist and Jeweler diploma from GIA. She designs and produces Museum exhibits on campus in Carlsbad and New York, and for tradeshows and public venues. She is also in charge of the Gift-in kind program.
