GIA Laboratory Offers Priority Lab Service to JA Show Attendees

Carlsbad, Calif. – July 21, 2008 – The Gemological Institute of America’s (GIA) New York Laboratory will offer “priority laboratory services” to Jewelers of America (JA) trade show attendees  during  the trade show this week in New York.  The JA show runs July 27 – 29, and the GIA priority laboratory services will be provided from July 24 – July 29 in New York.

Trade show participants submit stones at the nearby GIA New York Laboratory’s take-in windows and get their items back before the close of the show. For example, if a stone gets submitted to the Laboratory on Friday, it will be available for pickup by Tuesday night.

Tom Moses, senior vice president of GIA Laboratory and Research said, “We’ll have extended hours at the New York Laboratory on Thursday, July 24 from 8:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.  Then we’ll extend the Laboratory’s regular Monday and Tuesday hours (July 28 and 29) from 8:00 a.m. till 6:30 p.m.”

If work gets submitted Monday or Tuesday, it will still be afforded priority service and will be shipped back to their owners by their preferred shipping method.  There will be no additional charge for this priority servicing during the show.

The Jewelers of America Show is being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The GIA New York Laboratory is located on 580 Fifth Avenue, Suite 200, New York, New York 10036.  Call toll-free on 800-366-8519 or local at 212-944-5900. The fax is 212-575-3095.
