Close to 800 job seekers came ready to make the most out of GIA's New York Career Fair at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in July. The event, sponsored by The VNU Jewelry Group, gave attendees the opportunity to learn from established industry professionals and meet with recruiters from 44 companies, including Fortunoff, Movado Group Inc., Tiffany & Co. and Zale Corp.

Attendees had the chance to chat one-on-one with established professionals from various areas of
the industry during the career coaching sessions.

Dan Campbell, director of GIA New York, said he received a lot of positive feedback about the career coaching sessions and that, because of the campus' numerous international enrollments, the immigration law session was popular among students.

"What struck me most about this year's Career Fair is that the attendees were very focused and seemed to take full advantage of the resources available to them," he said.
