Beat of Brazil Draws Support
Volume 15-Issue 2-Spring 2006

The GIA Museum and In-Kind Giving teams went all out with the Institute's Collection Booth display at the AGTA Gem fair. Palm fronds, colorful labels and music with a samba beat set the scene for the debut of the Museum's newest compilation of jewelry: GIA's Brazilian Jewelry Collection.

The one-of-a-kind pieces, which show a range of styles from classic to contemporary, were donated by top designers and manufacturers from Brazil. The pieces drew rave reviews from show participants and visitors who stopped by to admire them. (See "Soul of Brazil," this issue.)

Patricia Syvrud, director of In-Kind Gifts, also welcomed supporters who contributed special pieces to the GIA Collection.
