Mikimoto Visit
Volume 15-Issue 2-Spring 2006

Mikimoto executives capped off a two-day sales retreat in La Jolla, California with a trip to GIA's Robert Mouawad Campus in nearby Carlsbad. The group of 17 went on a VIP tour of the Institute's world headquarters, including the Education building and Museum exhibits.

A special highlight for the group was a visit to the Richard T. Liddicoat Gemological Library and Information Center's Cartier Rare Book Repository and Archives. Judy Colbert, manager of visual resources, showed them two original copies of a 1907 and 1911 Kokichi Mikimoto-authored booklet from the Library's John Sinkankas Collection. GIA President William E. Boyajian hosted a luncheon for the group, which was attended by executives from the Institute's Marketing, Education, Research and Advancement departments.
