NEWS & NOTES

2004 Decals and Countertop Cards Now Available
If you’re an active Alumni member, you should have received your 2004 Alumni Association window decal in the mail. You can also advertise your affiliation with GIA by getting a countertop card to go with it. These display pieces for your business are free to Alumni members. Contact the Association to get yours.

Alumni-2-Alumni Benefit Program Rolls Out
The Alumni-2-Alumni Benefit Program has officially been launched and is looking for more participants. The program is designed to offer members discounted services between fellow alums. Some of the discounts available are on appraisals, gemstones, custom-designed jewelry and Web site design.

“The Alumni-2-Alumni Benefit Program is a great way to increase your business by getting your name out in the industry,” says Alumni Manager Rose McKenna.
Contact the Alumni Association if you’re interested in joining the Alumni-2-Alumni Benefit Program.

GIA Alumni Association MasterCard® Credit Card Expands
The GIA Alumni Association MasterCard® Credit Card now offers an air travel mileage program. Card users are rewarded with free trips by earning miles for their purchases, and a portion of the proceeds goes right back to the Alumni Endowment Fund. The credit card is available to Alumni members. Contact the Association to get yours.

Alumni Membership Campaign Coming Soon
GIA launched a membership campaign in November 2002 that netted more $30,000 for the Association. The organization hopes to build on this success by reaching out to GIA graduates around the globe when it starts its 2004 campaign later this year.

“By becoming a member, not only do you have fantastic networking opportunities, but you are privy to exclusive benefits such as the Alumni-2-Alumni Benefit Program and the Carat Point System of Recognition,” Rose McKenna says.

Watch your mailboxes for the 2004 Alumni Membership Campaign packet to support the GIA Alumni Association.
