Tomorrow’s Jewelry Business Leaders Need Your Support Today
Siddhartha Sacheti, of Mumbai, India, knew he had to take drastic action or he could lose the business he had worked so hard to build. So he traveled half way around the world to attend GIA’s School of Business. As a result, he learned the skills he needed to grow his business again. (Read Sacheti’s story on page 18.)
Sacheti is just one of many students coming to the Institute to develop the business skills and savvy they need to succeed in the jewelry industry today.
GIA, which has provided the finest education available to the gem and jewelry industry for more than 70 years, took a giant leap forward two years ago when it launched its first jewelry business courses.
The courses, which are available On Campus and by Distance Education, are modeled after those given at top business schools, but focus on fundamentals as they specifically apply to the jewelry industry, including retailing, finance, marketing, business law, entrepreneurship, accounting and more.
Graduates are able to take the knowledge they have learned at GIA and integrate it with their real-world jewelry businesses. Like Sacheti, they develop the leadership skills necessary to make savvy and profitable business decisions.
GIA needs your help, however, to continue to grow and enhance the School of Business and educate tomorrow’s jewelry business leaders. Additional faculty, facilities and materials are needed. And, most importantly, we want to make business education scholarships available to students world wide.
We have established a fund to support the growth of the GIA School of Business as part of the ongoing Endowment Campaign. You can help us serve the jewelry industry by supporting this important new endeavor. Please contact me to learn more about how you can become a GIA Business School supporter.
