Answer: Because GIA is a non-profit institution dedicated to serving the jewelry industry through education and research, GIA must remain impartial and we cannot recommend or endorse dealers or suppliers. However, there are several independently published directories that contain this type of information. These directories are organized by the type of product (e.g. finished jewelry, loose stones, services, etc.), followed by a list of dealers under each category (e.g. emerald, ruby, etc.). The address information for each dealer is available in the back of the issue, alphabetically by company name.
Jewelers' Circular Keystone, a jewelry-trade magazine often referred to as JCK, publishes a directory issue every January that lists many wholesalers and dealers.
