My GIA

I am looking for dealers or suppliers. Where can I find this type of information?

Answer: Because GIA is a non-profit institution dedicated to serving the jewelry industry through education and research, GIA must remain impartial and we cannot recommend or endorse dealers or suppliers. However, there are several independently published directories that contain this type of information. These directories are organized by the type of product (e.g. finished jewelry, loose stones, services, etc.), followed by a list of dealers under each category (e.g. emerald, ruby, etc.). The address information for each dealer is available in the back of the issue, alphabetically by company name.

Jewelers' Circular Keystone, a jewelry-trade magazine often referred to as JCK, publishes a directory issue every January that lists many wholesalers and dealers. Their website is http://www.jckgroup.com. To order a print copy of the JCK directory issue, please contact Jewelers' Circular Keystone at 360 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10010, telephone (646) 746-6456.

Lapidary Journal, a popular magazine for gem cutters, publishes an issue each May called the Annual Buyers' Directory. In this issue, they list products, services, and suppliers of gems and jewelry. Their website is http://www.lapidaryjournal.com. You can purchase this issue by contacting Lapidary Journal directly at 60 Chestnut Avenue, Suite 201, Devon, PA 19333 USA; telephone (610) 964-6300; fax (610) 293-1717

In addition, Colored Stone Magazine publishes the Tucson Show Guide in January/February listing exhibitors for all of the Tucson gem shows. The website for the Tucson Show Guide is http://www.tucsonshowguide.com and Colored Stone Magazine is http://www.colored-stone.com. To purchase a print copy of this directory, contact Colored Stone, 300 Chesterfield Parkway, Suite 100, Malvern, PA 19355 USA, telephone (610) 964-6300, fax (610) 293-1717.
