My GIA

I need to have my diamond ring appraised. Does GIA perform appraisals and if not, how can I locate a qualified appraiser?

Classic Diamond RingAnswer: A GIA Gem Laboratory report offers technical information on the dimensions, quality, and identifying characteristics of a loose diamond, but does not provide an appraised value. Value may later be determined by the information provided by a GIA Diamond Grading Report. If your diamond is mounted and you would like to have an appraisal of the entire piece of jewelry an independent appraiser would be able to provide with this service. An appraisal provides a quality analysis, description, and a valuation of a jewelry item.

One of the appraisal associations or networks will be able to assist you with locating an appraiser. The address information listed on the appraisal association page is for the headquarters of each organization. They each have a national membership and will refer you to an appraiser in your area.
