Whether by phone, e-mail, or in person, the Library staff answers the questions of scientists, jewelers, gemologists, and students from every corner of the globe. GIA's expert library staff draws upon a growing collection of 38,000 books, 50,000 photographic images, over 1,000 videos, 300 international periodicals, and the renowned Cartier Rare Book Repository and Archives  to provide "ready reference" in the fields of gemology and jewelry.

The public and members of the trade are welcome to visit the Library in order to use its resources for on-site research. Click here to find out more about visiting the GIA library.
