Diamond and gemstone treatments making their way into the GIA Laboratory and into the market are increasingly complex and harder to detect.  For decades, GIA has pursued a range of scientific investigations to address the public’s concerns. The Institute’s Laboratory and Research departments routinely encounter a wider variety of specimens than any other research lab.  As a result, GIA has developed an expansive database and knowledge repository on millions of gemstones. This information enables GIA, and ultimately the public at large, to benefit from something as valuable as gemstones themselves – knowledge.

GIA is fully committed to providing all of its clients with the exemplary customer service and quality standards they’ve come to expect from the world’s leading gemological laboratory. We will continue to build upon our knowledge base to develop additional services to help you better meet the needs of your customers. Through education, research and laboratory services, we hope to provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to serve your customers in a spirit of professionalism and trust.
