Gems & Gemology received the Edward L. Bernays “Mark of Excellence” award from the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) San Diego Chapter at its annual dinner in San Diego, Calif. on Oct. 19.

Gems & Gemology, which publishes up-to-date technical information about diamonds and colored stones, won the Mark of Excellence in the magazine category.

“We’re truly honored to receive the prestigious Bernays Award,” said G&G Editor-in-Chief Alice S. Keller. “This recognition is a tribute to the talent and dedication of the journal’s staff, as well as our many authors, photographers, and other contributors.”

This was the fifth consecutive year that GIA has been recognized in the contest named for Bernays, “the father of public relations.” More than 300 communications professionals from all over San Diego County attended the event.

“The Bernays Awards is an opportunity for the San Diego public relations industry to come together to honor their peers for exemplary work,” said Derek Danziger, president of the PRSA San Diego Chapter. “The awards continue to raise the bar for public relations work countywide.”
