Allison DeLong, Production Assistant

Allison DeLong has been the Production Assistant for G&G since April 2003.

Allison's multifaceted career experience in the artistic, financial, and science and technology fields has provided her with the well-rounded experience to be an integral team player at Gems & Gemology. She is very interested in “how things are made,” and being part of the production process for a scientific journal such as G&G is an interesting and challenging opportunity for her.

Allison is working towards her Graduate Gemologist degree, and has a special interest in pearls. “As a little girl, I enjoyed rock collecting with my grandmother, and my interest in gemstones has been a natural progression,” she says.

Allison received her diploma in graphic communications from the Art Institute of Atlanta.  She has lived all over the United States, but remains a Southern Girl at heart, especially when rooting for Georgia Tech basketball. In her spare time, she is involved with caring for animals and enjoys designing her own line of women’s accessories and listening to music with her husband.
