GIA on iTunes U - your 24/7 free online continuing education program

Benefits for Students
GIA has partnered with Apple, Inc. to provide free continuing education online through GIA on iTunes U. Current or former GIA students can access a wealth of digital material that covers many topics including gemstone mining and sources, treatments and synthetics, current industry trends, and more.

With GIA on iTunes U, you use your computer or iPod (iPod not required) to download up-to-date course content that complements your current gemology program or informs you of course information that may have changed since you graduated. You can download audio and video segments featuring valuable information related to your coursework or current profession. The bonus:You stay connected to GIA anytime, anywhere.

Benefits for Graduates
What's more, if you already possess either the Gemologist or Graduate Gemologist credential, you are eligible to enroll in GIA's Continuing Education Recognition Program. This program recognizes your efforts to stay on top of current industry trends–and lets your customers know that you have made a commitment to provide them with the most up-to-date jewelry knowledge. All you have to do to get started is register.

There is no fee to access GIA on iTunes U. Any current or former GIA student can take advantage of the benefits of staying in touch with GIA–and in touch with current industry trends.

To access GIA on iTunes U, you must join the My GIA community. My GIA connects students to an online environment that is customized–based on your needs–to deliver relevant, up-to-date information that is pertinent to your interests. It will also provide you with a wide array of online resources such as the Richard T. Liddicoat Library and Information Center, Loupe Online, and Career Services' job database.
