Dear Student:
The GIA Office of Student Financial Assistance in Carlsbad, California, is pleased to provide you with information and assistance to help you understand the various types of aid available for students considering taking a GIA course or program. While we can provide you with the necessary information, it is up to you, the student, to make every effort to learn where, when, and how to apply for financial aid, scholarships, or outside resources, and to make the important decisions about whether or not to use loans as part of your aid. You will need to plan in advance to establish your own sources of financial support to help pay for your education, since the amount of financial aid we can provide is limited, especially for Distance Education students.
It is very important that you read all materials carefully, submit all required documents on a timely basis, and fully understand your responsibilities about applying for and receiving aid to ensure that we can assist you to the greatest extent possible. While we would like to be able to provide more assistance, the shrinking Federal, state, and private dollars available, combined with the increasing cost of education, make it more and more difficult to provide sufficient sums of assistance to our students.
Although every effort is made to provide you with the latest information and application materials, the information contained on this site is subject to change due to Federal, State, or institutional policy or law.
If you have additional questions, please call us at (760) 603-4005, or (800) 421-7250, ext. 4005, 4004, or 4175, or you may send us an e-mail at financialaid@gia.edu.
Please do not hesitate to ask for help. We are here to serve you and provide whatever assistance you may need regarding financial aid, scholarships, or outside resources. We wish you a successful educational experience at GIA and an equally successful career.
Sincerely,
Phillip M. Weeks
Manager, Office of Student Financial Assistance
