My GIA

Jewelry design and creation is a dynamic process. From a blank canvas to a finished piece there are a million questions. You’ll enjoy every single minute. GIA’s acclaimed instructors will teach you the basic principles of design, perspective, and composition. Then, you concentrate on metals, textures, trends, and price points. But putting pencil to paper is just the beginning. You will also create and mold wax models of your own designs. And you’ll cast various types of jewelry from the basic to the complex. But you’re not done yet. You will also learn computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) techniques for jewelry. This advanced technology lets you change your design as quickly as you change your mind.

The Applied Jewelry Arts Diploma Program takes you beyond the basics and right into wax carving, casting, and mold making. These are the pre-production fundamentals you need to begin establishing yourself as a true jewelry design and manufacturing professional. When you complete this program you will have a portfolio of sketches, wax carvings, and jewelry design molds as unique as you are.
