The Richard T. Liddicoat Scholarship Fund Campaign
Today, you can make a difference.
Considered by many as the “Father of Modern Gemology,” Richard T. Liddicoat spent a great portion of his life making a profound difference in gemology and education. Arriving at the Institute in 1940, Mr. Liddicoat touched the lives of tens of thousands in his career and believed deeply in the value of education. He knew what it took to combine knowledge, research, and practical training in such a way that transformed students into a successful gem and jewelry professionals. As such, he devoted most of his life to forwarding the mission of GIA.

The Richard T. Liddicoat Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 to honor the contribution that Mr. Liddicoat's life was to the Institute and the jewelry industry.
Today, you can make a difference for more aspiring students when you contribute to the RTL Scholarship Campaign Fund. All contributions make a difference, no matter the amount. One-hundred percent of your donation goes directly to the RTL Scholarship Fund, and 100% of your generosity celebrates and honors the legacy of Mr. Liddicoat.
The RTL Scholarship Fund provides full scholarships for the Graduate Gemologist diploma program which are made possible through donor support. Since it began, several students have received this distinguished award and realized their educational aspirations.

"Receiving the RTL Scholarship was a huge honor which not only gave me a tremendous boost of confidence but jump-started my career in the industry. Without the scholarship, my current position and future aspirations may not have been possible. Richard T. Liddicoat was a much beloved founder of Gemology and it is an even greater honor to help further his legacy."
