Join three senior members of GIA’s Laboratory and Research teams as they depict the world of diamonds, pearls, and colored stones through the lens of GIA laboratory and research activities. John King, Chief Quality Officer, will describe the range of diamonds currently passing through the laboratory, including colored diamonds destined for auction, historic gems, and diamond treatments. Kenneth Scarratt, Managing Director, Southeast Asia and Director, Laboratory, Bangkok, will explore the rare world of natural South Seas pearls. Shane McClure, Director of Identification Services, will reveal the newest treatments facing colored stones and GIA efforts to detect them.
